Speaking of Fendi...

Kurt Schwitter - Drawing A2 Hansi, 1918

Fendi's Autumn/Winter 2011 inspiration is taken from the German artist, Kurt Schwitter. "The collection makes reference to his collage technique and unexpected colour palette. The Fendi woman for A/W11 is a strong woman who might be an artist or intellect." (via AnOther) and so hence they're advertising campaign...

At first glance Monki's collections look a little tacky and cheap; collections that could satisfy a schoolgirl's idea of fashion as well as her pocket money budget. But if you look beyond the cutesie website and writing you'll actually find some bloody good clothes (admittedly I haven't seen them in person - they could be poorly made with the most synthetic of materials, but I'm willing to give Monki the benefit of the doubt) that wouldn't look out of place amongst Fendi's Winter offerings. It shows, it's not what you wear but how you wear it.

A Spectacular Fall

Speaking of fall, I came a CROPPER on Park St today with an elaborate 180 degree descent onto the pavement; the passing traffic got an eye-full. Miraculously I came away rather unscathed.
