I saw Drive last night with Alex (we got in for free at the Watershed, once again another perk of working at the Arnolfini). I absolutely loved it. But then it's no real surprise there, I like an action film with some depth, one that shows the polar opposites of the natural human state. In this case, it almost mimics a computer game (particularly Grand Theft Auto - Vice City) with the help of the the heavily influenced 80s synth soundtrack from the likes of Kavinsky featuring Lovefoxx and College. Lars and the Real Girl

I hate the term 'offbeat comedy' but that's what this is. A bittersweet offbeat romcom you could even say. I quite often find such quirky indie films a little sickening (it's the cynic in me) but this I enjoyed.

Apparently I'm only attracted to Ryan Gosling when he's mentally ill.
